Craig Kucia is a Los Angeles-based artist known for paintings that blend memory, imagination, and influences from Surrealism, Cubism, and the Pattern & Decoration movement. His compositions often feature whimsical motifs like whales, cacti, and imaginary machines, creating narratives that merge flat graphic forms with rich textures and bright coloration. Kucia holds a BFA from the Cleveland Institute of Art and a Post-Graduate Diploma from Chelsea College of Arts. He has had solo exhibitions at The Pit, Palm Springs, SHRINE, New York, and Taymour Grahne Projects, London, UK, amongst others. Kucia’s work offers a colorful and quirky look at his subject matter, which ranges from machines to whales, portraiture to still life.
