Daniel Clurman

Daniel Robin Clurman is a self-taught artist of over 25 years living and working in Brooklyn, New York. As a black Jewish-American and a member of the queer community, Clurman draws inspiration from his own identity, his family, and historical and social figures that he admires. Clurman’s creative process begins by researching a subject, sourcing images, and re-imagining them as part of his own visual world. Through his work, Clurman focuses on social aspects of humanity, specifically intersections of race and gender. Creating a visual representation of Clurman’s BIPOC queerness has been the fundamental inspiration behind his work.
