David Burdeny
Canadian, b. 1968
Self-taught photographer David Burdeny transforms the physical and spiritual qualities of space into divine exaltations on the possibilities found in the contemporary world. Works such as Saltern Study 06, Great Salt Lake, UT (2015) demonstrate his technical aptitude and minimalist vision. His architecture and design background as well as his childhood living in the Canadian prairie influences the compositions of his straightforward photographs featuring the topography, cityscapes, architecture, and landscapes. He earned a BA and Master of Architecture from University of Manitoba. He is the recipient of numerous awards including first place in the Landscape Division and Non Professional Photographer of the Year: Nature at the International Photography Awards. He transforms the physical and metaphysical qualities of space into exalted investigations into the possibilities found in the contemporary world.
