Dennis Congdon
Dennis Congdon holds a BFA from RISD and an MFA from Yale. A full professor in the RISD Painting department since 1998, he has also taught at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and the Tyler School of Art. Congdon is a fellow of the American Academy in Rome and has received a Guggenheim Fellowship (2003) and RISD's John R. Frazier Award for Excellence in Teaching (2010). He facilitates the Vikram and Geetanjali Kirloskar Visiting Scholar in Painting program at RISD, inviting artists from India and South Asia for collaborations with graduate students. His work has been widely exhibited, including solo shows at CUE Gallery (NYC), Smith College, Oberlin College, the RISD Museum, and the Mona Bismark Foundation in Paris.
