Dennis McNett
Illustrator, woodworker, and printmaker Dennis McNett creates work with a vibrant and meticulous graphic aesthetic. His work draws on fantasy, folklore, and pop culture with bold colors and patterns and refined linework that are inventive and respective of traditional techniques. Innovative and creative works such as Kinetic Fenris II (2014) demonstrate complexity and breadth in their depictions of McNett’s personal beliefs about the world. He was influenced by his grandfather to pursue art and became inspired by the raw aesthetics stemming from the skate and punk scene of the 1980s. He earned a BFA from Old Dominion University and an MFA from Pratt Institute. He is the recipient of the New York Foundation of the Arts Grant and a National Endowment of the Arts sponsored residency at the John Michael Kohler Art Center. He has collaborated with brands such as Vans, AntiHero Skateboards, and Barneys.
