Diana Ruban
Ukrainian, b. 1999
Diana Ruban is a Ukrainian artist born in the Poltava region, in the city of Kremenchuk. She began drawing as a young child, and after receiving her first acrylic paints at 16, her blossoming artistry turned into a quest for something bigger. A completely self-taught artist, Ruban has no formal training. Her work is often personal, and central to her practice is her dedication to representing the female form. Ruban’s women are not held back by oppressive forces; instead, she imagines them as reborn even despite suffering—strong, sincere, and secure. Ruban has exhibited internationally, participating in group shows in Turkey, Scotland, Switzerland, and the U.S., as well as solo shows in her home country of Ukraine. Her work was featured in Harper’s Bazaar in 2024.
