At the age of 12, my father introduced me to my first love, a Pentax K-1000. I spent the next several years shooting, developing and learning all that I could about photography. I continued to pursue my passion as a photography major when I began college. A few regrettable decisions later, and I graduated with a degree in Sociology from Towson State University. Life quickly brought me marriage and 3 incredible kids. While motherhood was the career I dreamed of since the first grade, I was always envious of those artists that pursued their passion with a vengeance. Through the years I’ve always had a camera by my side. Twenty years worth of family photos with no mother in sight as she was always behind the lens.
Once my kids were grown, I realized it was time as a single mom to pursue my passion and reinvent myself. I shot animals, sports, people and anything else that caught my eye. When people would ask me what my specialty was, I’d say I haven’t found it yet. Then in 2010 I participated in an art nude workshop, and realized I had found my niche. I was raised in a home with an artist mom who spent many years painting nudes. The draw to creating art from the human form was perfectly natural. So, here I am 30+ years behind the lens, and it is still a rare moment to catch me without a camera in my hand. If I had my choice I’d be in the studio 365 days a year. I just can’t get enough!
