First acquisition of Bargheer’s work by the Kunsthalle in Hamburg

Stays at S. Angelo d’Ischia where he makes friends with Werner Gilles. Visits Paul Klee in Berne; Klee had studied music under a great uncle of Bargheer’s.

Made an honorary citizen of Forio d’Ischia

Back in Germany for the first time since 1940; from now on Bargheer lives alternately in Hamburg-Blankenese and Forio d’Ischia
