Edwin Burdis fuses art, action, and experimental music in his absurdist, poignant performances, through which he reveals his anxieties about being a man, an artist, and a successful member of society. Burdis has created a bevy of personas who represent the fragility, difficulty, and humor of the human condition. In a recent performance titled Home Service (2011), he took up residence in a London gallery for a month, reflecting on the meaning of home and community through on-site artmaking and conversations with a range of community members he invited into the space.
