EJIRO FENEGAL (b. 1991) is a sculptor from Ughelli south, Delta State, and attended the School of Arts, Design and Printing, Yaba College of Technology where she graduated with a Higher National Diploma in Sculpture in 2019.
Ejiro Fenegal meticulously manipulates marble to create elegantly detailed figurative sculptures that delve into the complexities of the human condition. She firmly believes that constraining emotions like fear; doubt, weakness, and hate are detrimental to one’s existence. Her creative process involves working with clay to model, as well as mold taking and casting using resin and marble dust. Vibrant polychromatic patina are then applied to accentuate the expressive features of her subjects. Ejiro has attained recognition for her work through various select awards and press, including the “The White Wall and Coindesk Prize” at Scope Miami Beach 2024, for the acquisition of work into the permanent collection of the Toledo Museum, Ohio. She was selected as part of “15 Women Sculptors You Need to Know” by Prazzle arts alongside Simione Leigh, Chiharu Shiota, Wangechi Mutu, and others.
Works by Ejiro Fenegal are in notable private collections such as the CCH Pounder Kone Collection, the Wright Art Collection, Lester Marks Collection, Denise Gerson Collection, Adam Levine Collection, the TETA Collection, and the Singletary Family Collection.
