Essam Darwish
Egyptian, b. 1970
Essam Darwish is a professor at the Faculty of Art Education, sculpture Department.
Darwish is an active member in the Egyptian artistic movement, participated in numerous exhibitions in China , Serbia and Yemen.
Darwish was commissioned by the Egyptian Ministry of Culture to design and execute a Granite sculpture to be installed in front of the EDFU University .
One of his sculpture creations has been mounted at Mohandessin’s Lebanon square. The master work is inspired by a tower and was created in 2007. Darwish has participated in the earlier rounds of Emmar sculpture symposium in Dubai among 40 international sculptors, winning the second prize for his marble and stainless steel work entitled "Together". He also won the competition organized for modeling a six meter Bronze statue of late veteran Egyptian footballer "Saleh Selim".
Darwish’s works are exhibited in the national museum NOMAC, China , the Modern Art museum in Cairo, the open museum in Aswan, the great guests lounge in Alexandria library and other important venues.
