"I’m interested in creating juxtapositions between seemingly opposite concepts and images, showing that in the end they might not come from radically different places." FS
The Indonesian street artist Farhan Siki reflects about the Pop Culture of the 21st Century, exploring textual elements, collecting logos, brands, and symbols of mass culture, in order to prepare them on canvas, charging them with hyperbolic attributes and parody. The urban experience and the ever-increasing consumerist culture we encounter in our daily life, in his artworks crashed in a loud splash of color, satirizing (from the inside) the contemporary art system that became, for certain artists, a star system.
