Felix Droese was born in 1950 and studied at the Dusseldorf Art Academy as a student of Joseph Beuys. Since the 1980s has participated in the most relevant exhibitions - to mention but a few, Westkunst and documenta VII, “Von hier aus”. In 1982 he got the Price for young artists of NRW, Germany. 1986 he had a professorship at the Städelschule, Frankfurt am Main, Germany.
In 1988, he was a representative of the Federal Republic of Germany at the Biennale di Venezia with his work “Haus der Waffenlosigkeit” (The Unarmed House). 1996 he won the Art-multiple-Preis (now: Cologne Fine Art-Preis) and the Kunstpreis der Künstler in 2015.
