FORT

Alberta Niemann and Jenny Kropp, aka FORT, stage performative situations, objects, and spaces to mimic the complexity of everyday life. Their strategy consists of appropriating what is familiar to an observer and adding an element of the disturbing and strange. In FORT’s installations, viewers become involuntary extras in a scene serving to make the mechanisms of our consumer society—and the art market—visible.
