Francois Chauvin
French, b. 1947
Born in Bois Colombe (France) in 1947, Francois Chauvin is a graduate of ENSAAM (French school of art).
After performing in the field of advertising and photography, he has turned towards three-dimensional research applied to industry.
In 1975, he established himself as “painter-sculpture” and consequently began a synthesis on form, color and action.
He is co-founder of several artistic associations and also of several cultural and artistic exhibitions in Paris and the rest of France.
With two of his friends, he has created the “Galerie Monade” in Paris. He has been looking for several contemporary artists.
He then produced some written works and video assembling in 1987. This led him to confirm his desire to create “wall decoration” (wall painting). He has imposed a renewal of mural art with his very personal and contemporary style.
He also participates at every session of the “PAAS International” in Paris among a group of artists called “Wyndia”.
Francois Chauvin has been creating a new conceptual dimension with his bas-reliefs and sculptures by associating molded plaster to his works.
His passion for creating and organizing leads him to the discovery of new techniques and materials and at the crossroad of the different trends in the actual art.
After different exhibitions, he has also confirmed the maturity of his creativity, appreciating the mobility of the canvas as a new support.
