Gary Weisman
American, b. 1952
Gary Weisman is a sculptor specializing in figurative bronze works that blend classical influences with contemporary dynamism. Drawing from Greek and Renaissance traditions, his sculptures emphasize movement, musculature, and the expressive power of the human form. Weisman performs every step of the casting process himself, from modeling to pouring bronze at his foundry. His work conveys a sense of weightlessness, balancing strength and grace. Weisman’s sculptures are held in public and private collections worldwide, including at the Whitney Museum of American Art. He has received numerous awards, including the ARC National Sculpture Award and recognition from the European Museum of Modern Art. Through precise craftsmanship and a deep understanding of form, Weisman reinterprets classical sculptural traditions for modern audiences.
