The basis of Jona’s work is the inspiration drawn from his cultural Aucaner background. Paying hommage to his ancestral roots, his work displays an eclectic cultlike style in which the dynamic expressions of the human figure is a central subject. His unique visual vocabulary is characterized by a distinctive gestural energy, a daring pattern of lines and forms and explosive colours. Dominantly present in Jona’s work are references to Pangi, traditional tribal clothing. Next to painting, Jona creates sculptures in cement.
