New York-based artist Graham Wilson uses re-purposed materials to transform and re-define a new form of painting, ridding his works of their "deliberate aspects." In his own words, his paintings and his investigation are “the end of painting." Concerned with the subject of the painting as an art object, Graham Wilson's canvases of textural and catalytic grids are marked by their laborious assembly and composition wherein a sense of the past, present, and a possible future coexist. This work stems from this particular artistic strategy with which Wilson takes, quite literally, fragments of his past to compose a new present and insinuate a potential future.
