Biography

Guillaume Paris creates installations of enigmatic artifacts that simulate the glut and confusion of 21-century advertising and popular culture. Using a variety of media that includes sculpture, installation, drawing, and video, Paris examines the ideologies of consumerism, politics, and religion that shape society. In his 2008 work Out of the Whale, Paris crafted a film of a short scene from Pinocchio looped in a continuous cycle, offering no hope of continuation or escape.
