Weaving atelier and design studio Hechizoo produces custom-made textiles for rugs, upholstery, window treatments, and architectural meshes and fabrics. Initiated by Jorge Lizarazo in 2000, Hechizoo works with skilled weavers and artists on commissions for both private and public spaces around the world. Originally trained as an architect, Lizarazo incorporates an architectural sense of proportion and structure to his varied textiles; the pieces transform the spaces they occupy, often functioning as pieces of “soft architecture” that alter the spatial perceptions of viewers. Through their innovative use of materials and the integration of organic with man-made materials, such as metal and nylon, Hechizoo creates beautifully complex and textured pieces that are architectural masterpieces of their own.
