Imogen Allen
British, b. 1997
Imogen Allen is a British painter whose work centers on exploring the energetic interplay between consciousness and the natural world through colour, shape, and gesture. Allen draws on her upbringing near Zennor, Cornwall to inform her deep engagement with nature’s textures and rhythms. Her paintings often evoke organic forms: fungi, plants, seaweed, and oceanic life appear as motifs in works that seek to reconnect human perception with elemental forces.
Her technique blends sweeping, fluid gestures with layered colour and depth; some works result from direct observation, others from personal photography or travel-informed studies. Allen earned a BA in Fine Art Painting from Camberwell College of Arts in 2020.
