Jacqueline Ryan
British, born 1966

As London-born jewelry designer Jacqueline Ryan describes: “My works are not made just to be exhibited, they want to be worn, because it is the interaction between the jewelry and its wearer that gives a work its full functionality and awakens it to life.” Inspired by her love of nature and old world cultures, as in her immediate surroundings in Umbria, Italy, where she lives and operates a studio, Ryan’s stunning pieces combine vibrant colors—turquoise, coral, and mint green—with natural metals such as gold. Employing her signature technique, using a piercing saw to cut through metal to create repetitive motifs in her forms, she creates elaborate-yet-wearable pieces, from broaches and necklaces to rings and bangles.
