Jeff Peters

Inspired by German Romanticism and Pop art, Jeff Peters’s paintings have a sublime aesthetic and pristine, super flat surfaces. A graduate of Laguna College of Art and Design, Peters primarily produces oil paintings as well as sculptures and illustrations. His figurative and abstract works are often inspired by his studio surroundings in Costa Mesa, California. A series of oil paintings begun in 2020 conveys the artist’s impressions of the Pacific Ocean in striated, subtly shifting color gradients. Peters’s mastery of tone and light aligns his paintings with the Color Field artists. His work is in the permanent collection of the Laguna Art Museum.
