Biography
Jeremy Sheaffer’s art addresses the glut of information in today’s wired world. He begins his work with free-form sketches inspired by news imagery and the visual languages of comic books, graffiti, and skateboarding sculptures. He then manipulates the images on the computer before meticulously painting them using an airbrush, projections, and layers of tape to form crisp lines that evoke the eerie perfection of mass production. As such, the images of violence and chaos he begins with take on the glossy sheen of consumer products.
