Jochen Mühlenbrink’s trompe-l’œil paintings explore the boundaries between illusion and reality, focusing on themes of perception, memory, and the ephemeral nature of everyday objects. Among his celebrated works are realistic depictions of torn and overlapping posters, entirely created using oil paint. Mühlenbrink studied painting at Kunstakademie Düsseldorf, where he was mentored by Markus Lüpertz. While primarily a painter, Mühlenbrink also works in sculpture and installation. His artwork has been exhibited throughout his native Germany and internationally in cities such as Amsterdam, Copenhagen, New York, Seoul, and Taipei.
