Whether through video, sculpture, public artworks, book projects, or photography, each of Jonahs Dahlberg’s projects address physical space and the ways in which we experience the world. His photographs feature natural and manmade objects—such as churches or music boxes—set in isolation against deep black voids that swallow all but the most delicately illuminated parts. Dahlberg also brings enigmatic narrative elements into his video and installation works, incorporating everything from operas to landscapes. Dahlberg has exhibited in several biennials, including Venice, Taipei, and New Orleans. He represented Sweden at the 26th Bienal de São Paulo in 2004.
