Jorge Julian says about his work "My art has always been closely related to what's happening in my everyday life and how I perceive my existence and my surroundings. What I feel and the way I interpret that information is the result of my work. Where I live in the world, and what exists in my mind, and the conceptual relationship between these two equally fictive places, is what I want to make visible to the viewer. As a result, I create images where the familiar becomes unfamiliar; almost everything you encounter in my work has completely different symbolic meaning. (An image of a glove could become a symbol for affection, or a bird could become a symbol for a penis). My goal is to awake the language of the unconscious, which becomes poetic reminders to the viewer of what surrounds them, and how they associate it into their lives."
