José González Veites
Mexican, b. 1957
José González Veites studied at the National School of Fine Arts (ENAP) of San Carlos, in Mexico City. Later he traveled to Europe where he resided and stayed in Emilio's workshop Vedova, in Venice, Italy (1981-1983) he has mainly exhibited at the Mexican Art Gallery, as well as in galleries from the United States and Europe. He has also participated in more than one hundred group exhibitions inside and outside the country. His work
is part of private collections and various museums, including the Metropolitan Museum in New York, USA, the Manuel Felguérez Museum of Abstract Art, Zacatecas, Mexico, and the collections of César Gaviria, Washington D.C., U.S.A., Jephan de Villiers, Charleroi, Belgium and the Espinoza Rugarcía Foundation, City of Mexico, Mexico. The last twenty-four years have been dedicated to developing his plastic work. The National System of Creators of CONACULTA has distinguished him in five issues and is currently a member. They have written about his work: Sergio González Rodríguez (RIP), Damián Bayón, Rita Eder, Luis Martín Lozano, Teresa del Conde, María Minera, Caroline Lamarche, Ana Cristina Ortego and Avelina Lesper, among others.
