Jose-Ricardo Presman
Argentinian-American, b. 1950
José-Ricardo Presman is a conceptual artist who exhibits site-specific installations rooted in the hidden undercurrents existing below the ordinary level of consciousness. His mediums vary from show to show and have included acrylic paintings, pencil drawings, collages and three-dimensional constructions, and are sometimes accompanied by poetry and prose. All his shows are challenges to create the most universal themes imaginable and to connect them to specific contemporary instances. Interpretations of his work range from the humorous to the occult, and his 25 solo exhibits have spanned 50 years. Both figurative and nonfigurative, Presman's work is often complex and is meant to stimulate the mind, providing an altered perspective of reality.
