SHIN Junmin was born in Daegu 1985 and graduated from the B.F.A and M.F.A. program of the art department of Yeungnam University. As a wanderer on the certain trails of his walk, he observes scenes of those places that attract him in terms of the subject matter of his work of art, such as the zoo of Dalseong Park, Daegu Baseball Stadium, and Dalseong Wetlands, etc. Recently, he has been experimenting on visualizing various forms of light including natural light and artificial light. He participated in the activities of the artists’ group in Daegu, ‘Sunday Paper’ from 2010 to 2017. He has had 8 solo exhibitions including ‘NEW LIGHT’ in Art Space Boan 1942, ‘La Promenade’ in Art Space Purl in 2022, and ‘LIGHT 2019’, the exhibition of the young artist awarded for the art prize commemorating the artist of Gwangju, HA Jungwoong. SHIN Junmin was invited to lots of group exhibitions organized by PIPE GALLERY, PAGEROOM 8 in Seoul, ArtPurl U in Ulsan, F1963 in Busan , CIAN Art Museum in Yeongcheon, and Space K in Gwacheon, etc. He was chosen as the Young Artist of Daegu in 2015 by Daegu Arts Center and one of the emerging artists of Suseong in 2017 by Suseong Artpia. Also, he was selected as one of the artists of the program of Promoting Young Artists of Daegu by Daegu Art Foundation from 2018 to 2019, and the young artist of the art prize commemorating the artist of Gwangju, HA Jungwoong by Gwangju Art Museum. In 2022, he was granted the First Fund for a Young Artist’s Career by Arts Council Korea.
