Biography

Inspired in part by the irregularities and embellishments in building facades, Karin Ruggaber creates wall-mounted collage-based sculptures that incorporate materials ranging from cement to fabric. Ruggaber’s largely abstract works draw from a signature body of component shapes such as crescents and are often exhibited on buildings’ exterior walls. For a 2008 exhibition, Ruggaber produced more figurative works, including Relief #60 (2008), which features the artist’s signature palette of whites on discrete shapes, depicting a dog on its hind legs.
