Kevin Beasley makes dense fabric-based sculptures and immersive acoustic installations that explore protest, labor, family, and Black identity in the American context. Beasley often encases cotton and found clothing in resin, a method which helps thematize preservation and memory. He received his MFA from Yale in 2012 and has exhibited in New York, Los Angeles, London, San Francisco, and beyond. Beasley’s work belongs to the collections of the Art Institute of Chicago, Dallas Museum of Art, Hammer Museum, Tate Modern, and Studio Museum in Harlem, among others.
