Klaudia Schifferle
Swiss, born 1955

Painter, sculptor, author, and musician Klaudia Schifferle made a name for herself as a young artist in the early 1980s. In addition to co-founding the female punk band Kleenex (later Liliput), in 1982 she became the youngest artist to take part in Documenta 7. Using oil, acrylic, watercolor, lacquer, and marker pen, Schifferle’s canvases and works on paper are known for their chaotic, colorful depictions of fantastical creatures and hybrid humans set against mythical backdrops.
