Li Cui-Lin graduated from the Central Academy of Arts and Crafts (now the Academy of Fine Arts of Tsinghua University) in 1987, earning a bachelor's degree. She then graduated from the Printmaking Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 2005, earning a master's degree. She is a professor in the Fine Arts Department of Taiyuan Normal University, the director of the Printmaking Teaching and Research Office, and a master's degree supervisor.
Li Cui-Lin is well-versed in various printmaking techniques such as copperplate and lithography, constantly imbuing this traditional art medium with a fresh and contemporary spirit. Her works are deeply rooted in a subtle perception of life and nature, depicting the fragility of life amidst its constant changes and the resilience of life in its relentless vitality. Her works are uniquely shaped, and the handling of light and dark contrasts reveals her skill, giving them a high degree of recognizability. The attention to detail reveals ingenuity, and there is a profoundness in the quietude.
Li Cui-Lin is one of the representative artists in the field of modern printmaking, and many of her works have been collected by institutions such as the National Art Museum of China, the Art Museum of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, the China Printmaking Museum, the Shenzhen Art Museum, and the National Culture and Arts Foundation of the United States.
