Luz Helena Caballero

Colombian artist Luz Helena Caballero produces botanically ornamental paintings and sculptures. Working mainly in acrylic, she manipulates organic designs into decorative patterns, using a vibrant, contrasting palette of blues, reds, and oranges. Her latest series “Offerings” depicts objects that carry mystical protection and charm, interrogating the mythology behind such beliefs. Caballero, who is interested in the intimacy and comfort that flora provides in people’s lives, has exhibited her work in Latin America since the late 1980s.
