Marcin Dudek
Polish, b. 1979
Marcin Dudek uses art as a strategy for living, expanding autobiographical experience into broader explorations of power and aggression, especially in the context of sport and cultural spectacle. Working with found and salvaged materials, he constructs objects, installations, paintings, and performances that merge obsessive craft with meditative detail. His paintings, built through intricate collage using medical tape and rubbed imagery, reflect a manic, energetic aesthetic rooted in lived experience. Dudek has presented solo exhibitions at the Museum Ostwall, IKOB Eupen, Centre Wallonie-Bruxelles, MNAC Bucharest, and MWW Wrocław, and shown in group exhibitions across Europe and the US. His work is held in collections including the Zabludowicz Collection, Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian, and Scharf-Gerstenberg Collection. In 2023, Hopper & Fuchs published his first monograph, Slash & Burn.
