Margaret Fitzgerald's paintings are about the intersection of man and landscape. Living in New Mexico, the natural landscape and its interconnection with man are ever present and have become the force behind her work. The artist is compelled by the idea of dualities--fragility and strength, hope and despair, randomness and intentional order. Through the process of painting she tries to mirror the seemingly random disorder inherent in nature and combine this with intentional forms. Fitzgerald received a BFA from the University of New Mexico. She currently lives in Albuquerque, NM.
