Margarita Gluzberg’s practice encompasses gigantic paintings and drawings, performance, and sound installation. Exploring various outposts of human experience, whether athletics or consumer culture, Gluzberg constructs a visual language out of diverse historical, autobiographical, and literary references. Her ongoing sound project, "The Captive Bird Society" incorporates recordings of birdsong, investigating historical modes of science and documentation. Fascinated by the structures of desire and its representation in art, Gluzberg began a series of paintings based on the three-star Michelin dishes of Alain Ducasse; entirely black monochromes, the works are still lifes that reference the tradition of Dutch vanitas paintings.
