Michael Kopplstaetter
Austrian, b. 1966
Born 1966 in Austria. National known and international profiled experienced Artist.
He has an important art history, his career has been contaminated and influenced in NY by the international artist
Salome, an artist who was founder of the art movement the New Wild (die Neuen Wilden, Berlin). In the 80s,
Salome’s group was considered a counter movement to prevailing conceptual art scence during which they
shifted to painting. Needless to say, that Michael Kopplstätter was infected by the spontaneous and expressive
elements of the Neue Wilde at a young age.
His artworks are full of juxtapositions tension, release, silence and intensity. The artworks are emotive and
sensual. Realistic and figurative representations of the female form blended with abstract elements to memorizing
effect. The work beautifully captures the vulnerability of the subjects, dissolving into the landscape of canvas.
Utilizing vivid colors and broad brush strokes each canvas is full of movement, intensity and light.
Works have various certifications of participation of international Juryprojects. Artworks have displayed in solo
and group exhibitions, as well in museum exhibitions and are find in various collections in Austria, Germany,
Swiss and USA
