Michele Pred
Swedish American
Michele Pred is a conceptual artist whose work focuses on feminist themes such as gender equality, reproductive rights, and personal security. Known for her use of everyday objects with cultural and political significance, Pred often incorporates items like expired birth control pills and airport-confiscated items into her pieces to comment on women’s rights and societal power dynamics. One of her notable projects includes modifying vintage handbags with pro-choice slogans, turning fashion accessories into statements of activism. Pred has exhibited her work internationally, with shows at the Berkeley Art Museum in California and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, among other institutions. She has also organized feminist art parades and activations in cities such as New York, Miami, and Stockholm.
