Milo Davis
American, b. 1997
Milo Davis (b.1997, Hollywood, Florida) received their BFA in Studio Art from the University of Central Florida in 2022. As a Black, mixed-race, first-generation child of a Cameroonian matriarch; Davis processes cultural proximity, experiences of displacement, queer identity and personal history through immersive figurative compositions. In their practice, Davis references family album photographs and curated anachronistic elements to re-imagine and memorialize the past. Their paintings envision transcendental futures where children of the diaspora can reconnect to ancestral land and the divine.
Davis recently exhibited in two group shows, Tessellate: The BFA Exhibition at the University of Central Florida, and The 33rd Student University Exhibition at the Atlantic Center for the Arts in New Smyrna Beach.
