Monika Lukowska

In her digital prints and other works on paper, Monika Lukowska explores the ways in which globalization shapes physical and cultural landscapes. Her work is infused by her memories of growing up in Poland and watching her native region bear the effects of industrialization and coal mining. Lukowska also makes art based on her extensive travels in the United States and Asia, drawing on her impressions of worldwide mass media and the way it interacts with traditional symbols and cultures.
