Mr Cute
French, b. 1970
Mr Cute is a duo of French visual artists. Brothers in life, they develop a work with four hands that is part of the energy of pop art and the street art scene. The detection of an orphan disease in one of the two artists marks a decisive turning point in their lives. They decide to orient their creation around "living fully and without regret" with an even crazier spirit than before the disease. "Stop waiting for Friday" becomes their motto.
Fervent admirer of Rauschenberg, Rosenquist and Warhol, and pure product of pop culture, Mr Cute applies the concept of uchrony, and changes the course of history to imagine what it could have been. His universe arouses positive emotions. If Marilyn Monroe and John Kennedy had made their relationship official, they would obviously have married for the second time. They would, therefore, have made a nice family photo in the Hamptons.
The two brothers feed each other in a creative ping pong. They explore different techniques, including screen printing, stencils or lenticular printing, and bring their 70s and 80s to life.
