Natasza Niedziolka
Polish, born 1978
Represented by up-and-coming galleries.

Interweaving modernism, folk tradition, and arts and crafts, Natasza Niedziolka knits and embroiders large works filled with bold colors and shapes. While her techniques are traditional and domestic, Niedziolka’s work is distinctly contemporary, merging modernist abstraction with the textile tradition. Influenced by Dada artist Jean Arp and drawing on the precedents of Anni Albers’s textiles and Hannah Höch’s collages, Niedziolka often flirts with representation in her abstractions in yarn that range from the boldly expressive to the quiet and enigmatic.
