NEAN (FABIEN HUPIN)
Belgian, b. 1991
"Nean - Fabien Hupin was born in 1991. He lives and works in Brussels. Self-taught, the capture of the suspended moment quickly became the central theme of his paintings.
With a lot of poetry, he approaches the question of the relationship between man and his environment. Concerned with using his art as a vector of emotions, he draws inspiration from music, whose titles become those of his creations.
The melody as a starting point determines the colors and sensitive materials of the scenes he paints. Recognized for his treatment of light, his work aims to be realistic; whether on facades, on canvases, or even through his pencil drawings.
His precise and sure gesture expresses a desire to be as close to the truth as possible.
Cinema also inspires him in framing and composition. He plays with the planes, sometimes defined, sometimes superimposed, as if to accentuate the immersion and bring us closer to the narration.
His figurative approach plunges us into a contemplative experience. His creations open up softened perspectives, creating a dreamlike dimension that he infuses into our cities, thus inviting a reappropriation of our public spaces."
