Biography

With offices in Tokyo and Milan, Nendo is a design studio run by Oki Sato; he describes his mission as to give people small flashes of inspiration: “We’d like the people who’ve encountered Nendo’s designs to feel these small ‘!’ moments intuitively.” This whimsical sentiment translates into bold but beautiful works of interior design—a series of lamps, tables, and vessels made from heated agricultural nets look like bionic jellyfish, suspended in midair, and Nendo’s glass tables with long, thin legs are as striking as something intentionally invisible can be. Nendo has collaborated with a host of luxury brands, including Tod’s, Cartier, and Lexus.
