Nico Munuera

Nico Munuera (Murcia, 1974) began his studies in Fine Arts at the Polytechnical University of Valencia in 1983. In the course of his studies he is awarded numerous awards and begins to work regularly with art galleries since 1998.
Since 1998 his work begins to be shown both at national and international fairs, ARCO, ArtChicago, Printfair NY, Art Brussel, ZonaMACO, etc ... In 2003 he moved to Paris with a scholarship from the College of Spain to continue his personal project. In 2004 he creted the exhibition “Hernández Pijuan - Munuera” in the Royal Botanical Garden of Madrid. In 2007 he moved to New York with a scholarship to carry out a painting project on Japanese papers. From 2008 to 2012 he lives in the city of Berlin. During this period he creted the exhibitions “Arriving in Xuwan” (2007) Galería Tomas March in Valencia, “To paint or not to paint” (2009) at the Museum of Fine Arts in Murcia, and “Rational Abstraction. Aldrich / Loureiro / Munuera / Uslé” (2011) at the Galician Center for Contemporary Art CGAC. His work has been exhibited internationally in institutions in cities such as Moscow, Italy or New York. In addition, continuous collaboration with national and international galleries the institutional exhibitions are also significant, such as “Frame Time” (2014), in the Verónica hall of Murcia or “Praecisio” (2017) in the Valencian Institute of Modern Art, IVAM.
His work is found in numerous prestigious collections such as the Barrié Foundation, AENA Foundation or La Caixa.
