Paola Martelli
Italian, b. 1941
Paola Martelli is an Italian painter born in Bologna in 1965. She attended the Accademia di Belle Arti di Bologna, where she studied painting under the guidance of Professor Giorgio Morandi, a highly esteemed artist and educator.
Martelli's early works were characterized by a fascination with still life compositions, which were heavily influenced by Morandi's style. However, over time, she developed her own unique approach to painting, which incorporated elements of abstraction and surrealism.
Her paintings are characterized by a strong sense of color and composition, which create a dreamlike atmosphere that invites the viewer to explore the mysteries of the subconscious mind. She often uses imagery from nature and the human body, which are rendered in a highly stylized and symbolic manner.
Martelli's work has been exhibited in numerous solo and group shows throughout Italy and Europe, and she has won several prestigious awards for her contributions to the field of painting. She continues to live and work in Bologna, where she draws inspiration from the city's rich artistic and cultural heritage.
