Paolo Amico was born in San Cataldo Sicily in 1987; he lives and works in Palermo Sicily.
Amico studied at the Instituto d’Arte Statale in San Cataldo Sicily and then studied restoration at the Accademia di Belle Arti, San Martino delle Scale, Monreale in Palermo.
Amico’s drawings are done in ball-point pen on paper yet this limited medium still allows him to create a full colour spectrum of subtle tones and shadows. Through his strong use of perspective and frequent use of bold colours, his works draw the viewer into his cityscapes. It is a work of great patience and an emphasis on detail; skills he developed whilst studying restoration.
In 2012, Amico won First Prize for drawing Premi Accademia Premio Arte.
