Pascal
Italian, b. 1965
Pascal, stage name, was born in Turin in 1965. His artistic talent emerged when he was a boy, as a natural predisposition to art. After an initial self-taught period, he enrolled and successfully attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Turin, to then become a professor of art history. He never stops experimenting with materials, turning to original techniques such as the use of bitumen, melted wax, recycled elements, visible also in the choice of raw canvases.
The privileged subject of his works is the female figure. His works are portraits of women of enigmatic beauty. The intensity of the paintings emerges in the decisive and vigorous strokes, the colours that apparently seem to hide the faces actually deepen their emotional and dramatic meaning. These are lyrical and evocative paintings, and at the same time direct and immediate.
The artist has received several awards abroad including in Spain, Cyprus and Taiwan.
